In 2008, the
GOLF CHANNEL Amateur Tour
will conduct its seventh season in Atlanta.
The GOLF CHANNEL Amateur Tour is the largest, fastest growing and
BEST national amateur golf tour and the Atlanta tour has been one of the largest in the country
since its inception.
The first
half of the regular season will feature 8 one day, 18 hole tournaments and 1 two
day, 36 hole Regional Major. The top 10 % in each flight on the total order of merit points
list after the first half are eligible for the National Championship.
The second half of the regular season will
feature 7 one day, 18 hole tournaments and 2 two day, 36 hole Regional
Majors. The top 10% in each flight on the
total
order of merit points list after the second half (not already qualified)
are eligible for the National Championship.
Tournament winners and the top 50% in each flight on the overall order of
merit points list at the end of the regular season will be eligible for the
Atlanta Tour Championship, where we will crown winners in each flight from the
total order of merit point standings.
